Privacy Policy

At Serenity Counseling Service, your privacy is a top priority. We are committed to protecting your personal information and maintaining confidentiality in accordance with the laws and ethical guidelines governing the counseling profession in the state of Texas.

Information Collection & Use

We collect personal information (such as name, contact details, and health information) solely for the purpose of providing counseling services. This information is used to schedule appointments, process payments, communicate with you securely, and deliver appropriate mental health care.

Client Portal

Our client portal is a secure, confidential space where clients can schedule sessions, complete forms, send messages, and access important documentation. All data is encrypted and protected in compliance with HIPAA standards.

Confidentiality

All client information is held in strict confidence and will not be shared without your written consent, except as required by law. Exceptions include:

  • If there is reason to believe you are at risk of harming yourself or others

  • If there is suspected abuse or neglect of a child, elderly, or disabled person

  • If records are subpoenaed by a court of law

Data Security

We use HIPAA-compliant systems to ensure the safety and confidentiality of your records, communications, and session information.

Telehealth Disclaimer

Serenity Counseling Service offers telehealth counseling to clients located within the state of Texas. By participating in telehealth services, you acknowledge and understand the following:

  • Telehealth sessions are conducted through a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform to ensure your privacy and confidentiality.

  • You are responsible for providing a private, distraction-free environment for your sessions.

  • In the event of technical issues, your therapist may attempt to reconnect or reschedule your appointment.

  • Telehealth is not appropriate for all mental health concerns. If at any time your therapist determines in-person care or referral is more appropriate, that will be discussed.

Clients must be physically located in Texas at the time of each telehealth session.

Booking Policy

We value your time and commitment to therapy. Please review the following scheduling terms:

  • Cancellations & Rescheduling: We require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or to reschedule an appointment.

  • Late Cancellations & No-Shows: Appointments missed or canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice may result in a fee, up to the full session rate.

  • Late Arrivals: Clients arriving more than 15 minutes late will not be seen and will be charged for the full session. No refunds will be issued.

  • Payment: Payment is due at the time of service unless otherwise arranged.

  •

Right to Refer Out

Serenity Counseling Service reserves the right to refer a client to another provider if it becomes clear that the therapeutic relationship is not a good fit or if the client’s needs fall outside the scope of our services.
